Why councils and schools choose Playworks
Inspectors who install and repair. Our team installs play equipment for leading manufacturers, so we understand how it should be built and how to put it right.
One contractor for inspections and repairs. No chasing separate companies – we find it, quote it and fix it.
RPII-registered operational inspectors, with annual inspections by an independent RPII-registered partner.
Enhanced DBS-checked operatives on every visit, suitable for school sites.
Reports you can file. Dated photo reports give your council or governors a clear record of inspection and action.
Any equipment, any manufacturer. We inspect and maintain play areas whoever installed them.

Frequently asked questions
-
BS EN 1176-7 recommends three levels of inspection: routine visual checks (daily to weekly, depending on use), operational inspections every one to three months, and an annual main inspection. Our package provides an inspection roughly every three months – three operational inspections plus the independent annual inspection. Routine visual checks between visits are usually carried out by your own staff or volunteers.
-
Play area owners have a legal duty to keep their sites reasonably safe. BS EN 1176 is a standard rather than law, but regular, documented inspections are widely regarded as the best way to show you are meeting that duty.
-
Minor maintenance is carried out during the visit. Anything larger is listed in your report with a priority and a fixed quote. Where something is unsafe, we'll tell you straight away and advise on making it safe.
-
No. We inspect and maintain play areas from any manufacturer, whoever installed them.
-
Yes. Many of our parish council clients have two or three play areas on one package, with visits arranged on the same day where possible.
